What could be more annoying than chipping your nails right after a fresh manicure?
Some quick fixes:
For the beginner (or time-deprived): Use a toothpick as your "brush" to dot on polish to the inside of the chip. Then simply allow it to dry.
For the intermediate: Apply polish remover to the pad of one of
your fingertips (it's easiest to go with the hand opposite of the one
with the chip). Then, using a circular motion, dab the remover-soaked
fingertip on the chip to gently smooth it out. Once dry, fill any
exposed nail areas with polish. Finish by sweeping on a fresh coat of
lacquer over the entire nail to set. Tip: in lieu of using polish
remover to diffuse jagged edges, you can always sand over the chip with a
nail buffer.
Lastly, a glitter topcoat. Just paint it on right over your chipped polish for an instant fix. The chunkier the glitter, the better this works
You could also add another layer over your fix just to make it look more consistent.
Short hair can perfectly frame the face, but when we are bored out of our bob the wait to longer hair can be a long one.
Here are 5 steps that you could take:
1. Adjust your diet.
Start by eating a healthy diet which will provide a mix of protein and nutrients that can improve the condition of your hair. Balanced eating keeps follicles strong and hair from breaking easily.
2. Get smarter about Styling.
Limiting the use of a flat iron to three times a week is best. Also, limit sunlight (as it can strip the hair) and blow drying. Loosen hair ties as they break your hair too.
3. Try Vitamins and Conditioning Ingredients.
Vitamins such as Biotin and fish oil aid in the production of enzymes and hormones which can help stimulate hair growth. The cleanse-treat-condition formula is designed to push regenerating anti-aging ingredients deeper into the follicle, scalp and hair, which helps prolong the hair’s growth phase.
4. Take It Easy
Because stress can affect hair, Dr. Gerstner recommends weekly deep
tissue massages to relax body and mind. “The adrenals pump out extra
cortisol when we are stressed, which leads to acne, skin inflammation,
and possible hair disorders”.
Static cling means there is an electric charge on your clothes and can cause a silk dress to bunch up on your tights.
Your clothes stick together and it is extremely annoying and unsightly.
Solution 1: Spray a little hairspray on the inside of your clothes.
Solution 2: attach a small safety pin to the inside of your clothes.
Solution 3: applying lotion or baby powder to your body
Every
once in a while a revolutionary fashion item is created and a
media/shopping frenzie to go along with it. So in 2010, it was
Valentino's Rockstud slingbacks. And they are here to stay.
Most
'it' shoes come with a high heel measuring 4-5 inches and when the
Rockstud stepped onto the scene with such a comfortable heel height,
well, the ladies snatched them up.
Usually
shoes designed with a 2.5 inch heel height are more reserved in nature
(not fun or sexy at all), but the Rockstud with its ankle straps and
stud embellishment filled a much needed gap in the market.
"Sexy and comfortable. A little bit lady, a little bit badass."
Another
thing that makes the Rockstuds so popular are the available options.
You can get them in black, white, beige, red, navy, pink, green,
yellow,zebra-striped, dove gray with nude, black or self studded trim. Almost anything!
It's expensive. Seriously. You thought spending $600 on a pair of Prada heels was bad? Valentino laughs at $600. But there are lookalikes that may accommodate your pricing range...
It's addictive. Buy one pair and soon enough you'll want another, there is something magical about slipping on a pair of beautiful shoes. So
what is the secret behind their success. Probably its the mix of an
absolutely classic shoe silhouette (think no platform, elegant classic
heel shape, little decorative elements).
Edgy little studs that give the whole thing a young and modern twist.
And maybe the fact that they are Valentino...
Blazers
are a must have in a lady's closet. They are the epitome
of class, neatness and elegance. The good thing is that a blazer can be
worn with almost anything.
Firstly, I will go through what I think are the best times/places to wear them in no particular order:
1. Formal/business wear, at work or to a conference.
2. Lunch/picnic or even a bbq
3. Casual normal day
There
are various types but one particularly popular type is the 3/4 sleave
blazer. It adds a different dimension to your outfit. I would suggest
wearing that type for a casual day or outing.
One of the many great things about wearing a blazer outfit is accessories!
Notice how most of the ladies in the first picture wear accessories with their blazers.
Blazer + accessories almost always work
Lastly.. color.
The
safest bet, especially if are buying for the first time, would
be neutral colours. BLACK (should be a basic color in every closet),
brown, grey and white are some examples. Pastel colours can work well
too, but try the safer ones for now.
Soon you'll find yourself putting together an outfit like this...
Remember, true beauty is from within!
Have a nice day
I
am a 22 year old living in New York City. I recently started a hobby of
my own, I decided to create an Instagram page on clothing and beauty
and now a
blog to go along with it. I call them my "digital diaries", I hope they
show you the mindset that goes into putting together outfits and provide
ideas and inspiration for a range of styles and sizes. I also like to make collages of specific items that I'm focusing on.
Please take a few seconds of your time to leave comments or questions. They're much appreciated!
