Every
once in a while a revolutionary fashion item is created and a
media/shopping frenzie to go along with it. So in 2010, it was
Valentino's Rockstud slingbacks. And they are here to stay.
Most 'it' shoes come with a high heel measuring 4-5 inches and when the Rockstud stepped onto the scene with such a comfortable heel height, well, the ladies snatched them up.
Usually shoes designed with a 2.5 inch heel height are more reserved in nature (not fun or sexy at all), but the Rockstud with its ankle straps and stud embellishment filled a much needed gap in the market.
"Sexy and comfortable. A little bit lady, a little bit badass."
Another thing that makes the Rockstuds so popular are the available options. You can get them in black, white, beige, red, navy, pink, green, yellow,zebra-striped, dove gray with nude, black or self studded trim. Almost anything!
It's expensive. Seriously. You thought spending $600 on a pair of Prada heels was bad? Valentino laughs at $600. But there are lookalikes that may accommodate your pricing range...
It's addictive. Buy one pair and soon enough you'll want another, there is something magical about slipping on a pair of beautiful shoes. So what is the secret behind their success. Probably its the mix of an absolutely classic shoe silhouette (think no platform, elegant classic heel shape, little decorative elements).
Edgy little studs that give the whole thing a young and modern twist.
And maybe the fact that they are Valentino...
